Terry Webb

Terry Webb was elected unanimously to the position of International Representative at the 40th General Convention in August 2021 and serves as the Administrative Assistant to the General President/Canada. He had been appointed to that position on July 1, 2020, and as an International Representative on May 1, 2020.

Prior to his appointment as International Representative, Brother Webb had been appointed as a Special Representative, effective January 1, 2017, and had been assigned to work with the General Presidents Maintenance Committee and the National Maintenance Committee and Fabrication for Canada.

Before his appointment as Special Representative, Brother Webb was the Business Manager/Financial Secretary-Treasurer of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 628 in Thunder Bay, ON. After being elected Business Manager, Brother Webb was appointed to serve on the Canadian Strategic Planning Committee. He was also a trustee of the National Pipeline Pension Fund, as well as the Pipeline Training Trust Fund. He served for three years as President of the Ontario Pipe Trades Council, which represents 10 UA locals in that province. For five years, Brother Webb was President of the local building trades.

In 2002, he was elected Business Agent, a post he held until 2009 when he was elected Business Manager/Financial Secretary-Treasurer. He was also Vice President and President of his local. He was elected to the Executive Board in 1990 and served as a trustee on the local's Pension and Benefit Plans.

Brother Webb was initiated into Local 628 in 1982. He fulfilled his apprenticeship obligations working at Clow Darling, a Thunder Bay union mechanical contractor. He worked in residential and ICI construction and became a journeyman in 1983. After that, Brother Webb worked in many facets of the trade, such as pulp and paper mills, power plants, and pipelines. He served as Shop Steward and also in supervisory positions on many projects.
