Terence Snooks

Terence Snooks was appointed Director of Canadian Affairs on December 3, 2019, and remains in that position today.

Prior to his appointment as Director, Brother Snooks had been unanimously elected International Representative at the 39th General Convention in 2016. He had represented the interests of UA members in Ontario and members working in the power sector and sprinkler industry in Canada until his assignment to the Canadian Office in Ottawa as Administrative Assistant to the General President/Canada on January 1, 2019.

He was initiated into Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 46, Toronto, ON, in 1978 as a steamfitter apprentice. He became a journeyman in 1983.

When Brother Snooks worked with the tools, he was Shop Steward, as well as a Foreman or General Foreman on many different jobs. In 2003, he was elected Business Representative with Local 46. In 2005, he was elected to the position of President of the Central Ontario Building Trades Council and remained in that position until 2022.
