Mike Gordon

Special Representative
Director of Canadian Training

Mike Gordon is a Special Representative assigned as the Training Director/Canada. His appointment became effective January 1, 2021. In his position as Special Representative, Training Director/Canada, Brother Gordon is tasked with identifying opportunities for UA members, while maintaining stewardship of trade qualifications and the apprenticeship system in Canada.

Brother Gordon has been active in all facets of apprenticeship legislation, licensing, and interprovincial Red Seal initiatives since he was licensed in his first UA trade. He has accumulated multiple trade designations since and has worked on multiple committees impacting trade governance in his home province and throughout Canada. Brother Gordon has been unwavering in his commitment to the UA and protecting the integrity of the trades.

Prior to being appointed a Special Representative, Brother Gordon had been a Training Specialist since 2016, developing and supporting national training initiatives out of the Canadian office.

He graduated from the UA Instructor Training Program in 2015 and was an Instructor for Plumbers, Steamfitters, and Welders Local 46, Toronto, ON, and at community colleges for eight years. In 2013, he assumed the role of Assistant Training Director at Local 46.

Brother Gordon was initiated into Local 46 in 2003.
